Edgardo S. Timbol, MD Class 1978

Outstanding Medical Service Award

Dr Timbol trained to be an internist and cardiologist with the Philippine Heart Center. He is a foremost electrocardiograph expert and has researched and is well-published on the subject. After his training he chose to practice in his home province of Pampanga.

The multitude of patients who have been “loyal” to Dr Timbol is testament to his competence and compassion as a physician. His clinic has always been a scene of long lines of waiting patients who are most satisfied with his care; the long lines are attributed to the word of mouth endorsement by Dr Timbol’s patients. Dr Timbol is known to give free service to indigent patients in his clinic. Furthermore, he has offered his free services to community workers and social development workers of NGOs and other charitable organizations. The COVID pandemic did not stop him from providing services as he continued to make online consultations. As he has been asked by his children who are also physicians to slow down because of age, Dr Timbol looks forward to more direct involvement with marginalized communities in Pampanga.

Dr Timbol has continued to teach younger physicians as faculty of a local university and as active member of his professional society. Dr Timbol is also an accomplished watercolor artist.
