Class 1983 is celebrating its Ruby Jubilee in 2023. The class has many achievements in
various categories in the past 40 years. Many have served in government positions (such as
Secretary/Undersecretary of Health, and advisers in agencies), in academe (Vice Dean and
Chairs in UPCM and in other medical schools), and as administrators (in UP as EVP, Vice
Chancellors, directors and other positions). The members have a respectable publication history
with over XXX books and chapters, XXX journal article publications, and numerous scientific
paper presentations, and as journal editors. Many have also received prestigious awards for
their life work from national bodies (including the Ramon Magsaysay Award, Metrobank
Outstanding Teacher, TOYM, TOWNS, Outstanding physicians, and others) and from the
university and the professional societies (including UP, alumni associations, UPMASA and
others). Many have also served as leaders, presidents, and head of professional organizations
both locally and internationally. These achievements are a reflection of the dedication of the
class members to serve the profession, the country and the institutions. We are proud to have
reached this point in large part due to the strong foundation provided by our UP college of
medicine education.
